It's over!
ROOTS Conference 2008 is officially in the books! What a crazy experience, seeing 4 months of planning become fruitful in two and a half short days. Thanks to my church for its support, to Emmanuel Youth Group, to the YCC, to everyone who came, and to God, whose love was a banner over us.
Highlights: Jesus Christ, good food, fun games, challenging speakers. Being an idiot in front of a lot of people.
Getting fash-on, ya?
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Love, Ben

Dear Ben:
Thanks for encouraging me to come. It was worth it. Thanks for being able to be an "idiot" in front of a lot of people. Praise God.
Love,
Carol-Lee Joy
looks like a lot of fun. :)
ben, i'm listening to Bon Iver right now... ever heard of them? they are GOOD.
i'm still pretty mad we didn't win that fashion show.
our fash was ON!
Yeah, but you kind of defeated the point of not wearing clothes as clothes...
Dear Ben,
You did a great job leading last weekend. Thanks for all your hard work and enthusiasm. (and thanks for encouraging me!)
love amy
no, see nadine, we MADE those clothes.
I'm wishing that I did come. It sounds as though you guys did a lot, learned a lot, and basically had a fantastic time.
Ben should never grow a mustache.
Ahh, Brittni, I understand!
Tala - I've never heard of them, but have you heard of the Great Lake Swimmers? Wonderful Canadiana. I don't know what kind of "Canadian" cultural experiences you've had, but I think they should be required listening for citizenship here.
Although that's bigoted and probably violates some human rights charters somewhere in this world.
Brittni, there was realistically no way I could have voted for your team and not been biased. I mean, you fash was on, but what was I to do?
It also didn't really help that you had like 18 different models. That was just plain confusing!
But yeah, you guys were pretty amazing. I really dug "attire".
So, yeah! There are my weak excuses for not being biased in your favour!
man, I SO wish I had not stayed home to sleep and gone for the afternoon so I knew the complete joke...fash-on...something to do with your accent Ben?? I'm slightly curious:P
but isn't it more biased that you were a judge and you won?
oh wait my bad, it was OTHER ben that won.
One would think that I could get that straight by now...
wish i was there [i had to work. bleh.]. i guess i'm not too old. it's about how you feel, not how you are, right?
glad it went beautifully . . i've heard so many positive remarks about the conference - how it was upbuilding and strengthening and a buttload of fun.
I don't think so... but I will before I become a citizen. Hahaha.
It's kind of weird saying that. So inbetween.
you should black and white your blog - the yellow on red is hard to read!
